These are 13 various sword strikes using the Point of the broadsword blade in a stabbing motion. Many are variants of other shots but should be worked as separate distinct strikes to ingrain their use. A Mechanics page will be added later to expand further on the methodology of thrusts, snaps, cleaves, wraps, slots, etc...
The Flick Thrust starts as a flick cut from guard to the offside face but is shallower and instead trusted forward at the last moment. Very quick and good for hitting that small eye gap.
The Quick Thrust is an overhead thrust that starts from a high sword guard position wherein you quickly twist the wrist/blade tip forward and thrust forward and often downward. The Quick Thrust can be very quick and is good for driving through gaps into the face/upper body.
The Jab Thrust is a shoulder driven thrust that starts with the hilt close to the shoulder and driving the tip forward with the hand/arm. The Jab Thrust can be repeated quickly and accurately with a rolling wind-up like a boxer.
The Slot Head Thrust is a thrust targeting the Head through an open center line defense, often between an open shield guard and sword.
The Slot Body Thrust is a thrust targeting the Body through an open center line defense, often between an open shield guard and sword.
The Slot Body Thrust is a thrust targeting the Body through an open center line defense, normally the offside thigh being too far forward and not covered enough.
The Deepslot Head Thrust is a thrust targeting the Offside Head/Face by going deep out and around the offside guard and stabbing forward palm up.
The Deepslot Body Thrust is a thrust targeting the Offside Body by going deep out and around the offside guard and stabbing forward palm up.
The Arcing Overhand Thrust is a thrust targeting the Head/Upper Body. It normally starts from a recalled offside leg or low recovery/feing. The blade recovers low then the tip rolls into a "tail guard" and the arm keeps the circular motion, driving the blade back, then up then over the top point forward into the face.
The Arcing Underhand Thrust is a thrust targeting the Legs/Lower Body. It normally starts from a high recovery with the blade returning in an arc back past the body moving downward and rolls around low, tip forward, to attack the lower regions..
The Outside Arcing Head Thrust is a thrust targeting the SIDE of the HEAD. Starting with a long exaggerated deep wrap motion the tip is then wrapped in early and thrust into the side of the head at the 90-degree mark when an opponent's defense is pulled back for a deep block.
The Outside Arcing Body Thrust is a thrust targeting the side of the Body. Starting with a long exaggerated deep wrap motion the tip is then wrapped in early and thrust into the side of the body at the 90-degree mark when an opponent's defense is pulled back for a deep block.
The Outside Arcing Leg Thrust is a thrust targeting the inside of the off Leg. Starting with a long exaggerated deep wrap motion the tip is then wrapped in early and thrust into the offside leg's inner thigh at the 90-degree mark when an opponent's defense is pulled back for a deep block. Very situational.
